πŸ’– The Joy of Helping: How Volunteering Boosted my Confidence and my CareerΒ πŸ’–

My name is Judy Mitchinson and before volunteering at the Andrew Logan museum of Sculpture, I was struggling with anxiety and had lost my confidence. After having children, the idea of returning to the workplace felt impossible.

Then I started volunteering at the museum. Over the course of 10 months, I was welcomed into the dazzling world of Andrew Logan. A vibrant, supportive community. I was given the freedom and flexibility to develop my skills and contribute in meaningful ways, with the support and guidance of an incredible team. I learned so much – from practical skills to gaining a renewed sense of self-worth – and, most importantly, I found joy again. ✨

At the end of those 10 months, I was offered the role of Project Coordinator at the museum – something that once felt so impossible became possible. Andrew’s work and museum has this magical quality – a dreamlike sense of imagination and joy – and it’s wonderfully infectious. πŸ’–

I truly believe that volunteering is good for the soul. “Volunteers are at the heart of the museum. They are vital to its success – bringing energy, positivity, and passion that help the museum grow and thrive.” 😊
