π The Joy of Helping: How Volunteering Boosted my Confidence and my CareerΒ π

My name is Judy Mitchinson and before volunteering at the Andrew Logan museum of Sculpture, I was struggling with anxiety and had lost my confidence. After having children, the idea of returning to the workplace felt impossible.
Then I started volunteering at the museum. Over the course of 10 months, I was welcomed into the dazzling world of Andrew Logan. A vibrant, supportive community. I was given the freedom and flexibility to develop my skills and contribute in meaningful ways, with the support and guidance of an incredible team. I learned so much β from practical skills to gaining a renewed sense of self-worth β and, most importantly, I found joy again. β¨
At the end of those 10 months, I was offered the role of Project Coordinator at the museum β something that once felt so impossible became possible. Andrewβs work and museum has this magical quality β a dreamlike sense of imagination and joy β and itβs wonderfully infectious. π
I truly believe that volunteering is good for the soul. “Volunteers are at the heart of the museum. They are vital to its success β bringing energy, positivity, and passion that help the museum grow and thrive.β π
